 Priest-in-charge: Father Tim Black
Greetings to our new church family!
I'm all settled in and beginning to meet and learn about you all. I'm looking
forward to working with you to discern how we can work together to live into
our baptism and be followers of Christ.
I'm originally from North Georgia (Gainesville), and was educated at Furman
University, where I studied English Literature. After college I had a few
careers: I was a film and TV actor here in Atlanta, taught in and helped found
a school for boys on the autism spectrum, worked briefly for BellSouth
Corporation and was a full time "househusband" as well. I was a
member of St Luke's Atlanta where I taught Sunday School, played lots of music,
sang, and served in various capacities.
I graduated from Candler School of Theology at Emory with an M.Div. in 2010,
was ordained to the diaconate in December of 2009 and to the Priesthood at Holy
Innocents Episcopal Church in September 2010. Prior to coming here, I was
Middle School Chaplain for Holy Innocents' School and Priest at Holy Innocents'
Episcopal Church.
I enjoy playing guitar and mandolin, singing, cooking, movies, snowboarding,
running and playing with our two dogs. Patricia Babuka (my wife) and I have
been married for twenty years and we have three incredible children - Madeline
(17), Olivia (14) and Aidan (10). Patricia is the founder and CEO of Point B
Advertising and Marketing and Grandcamp Adventures (a company that makes
products for grandparents and grandchildren). We live in Inman Park here in
Atlanta.
I'm excited about being a part of Incarnation and being with you as this
community enters a new chapter of its life together with Christ. I ask your
prayers for me as I begin my ministry, and know that I am praying for you. It
is my hope that we let God work through us to do greater things than we could
ever ask for or imagine!
